About the Guidelines

With schools and universities being closed across most of the EU Countries in an effort to contain the spread of corona- virus, an unprecedented number of students were out of class for an undefined period. This exceptional disruption triggered a move toward different formats of digital learning   However, it became clear that many schools and teachers did not feel fully prepared for this sudden need of implementing digital learning on a larger scale, and had to overcome several key challenges, barriers and obstacles. Nonetheless. digital learning might depict an important development for educational systems and might provide chances for educators and learners. Therefore, our guidelines should serve as an orientation for potential benefits and  obstacles that might accompany digital learning and provide a solid foundation of possible, approaches to digital learning.

Our guidelines are intuitive and easy to use and to read by trying to answer commonly asked questions that might arise in daily practice.  You have the option to read the guidelines as a whole but also simply look up the suggested answers to a specific question that you have.

The authors of the guidelines stem from different back- grounds (universities, secondary and tertiary education schools). Therefore, we hope that these guidelines encourage as many teachers and practitioners as possible in applying digital learning in their dally teaching.
